Hello. Im not sure about what im going to say, but in the answer to the first question, you say “It is a regression problem because the target variable is continuous (it is not a class)”.
I dont remember hearing this criterion. What i do remember is hearing that whenenver we want a prediction, it is a regression.
The concept was discussed in a slide at 9:36 of the video.
This is not correct: we can predict a (discrete) class assignment and that would be a classification task, not a regression task.
Do you remember where you read / heard that in the MOOC?
Since variable “y” may have a bunch of different possibilities you can guess it might not be a classification problem.
