Pd.Crosstab

I have gone through the chat to understand this statement "education-num"=2 is equivalent to "education"="1st-4th" but i can’t. Please can you explain how i can interpret or explain the crosstab visualization

Let’s recall the matrix and the line and column corresponding to the entry that you are specifying:

Basically, if you are looking at each column individually, you will observe that there is only a single non-zero entry. Furthermore, this non-zero entry for each column corresponds to a different row. Therefore there is a mapping for which “a column corresponds to a row and vice-versa”.

Therefore, looking at the column education-num=2 specifically, we can check which row is non-zero. In this case, this is education="1st-4th". Therefore, this is the direct correspondence.

Hello @glemaitre58 Thanks for the reply. But at column education-num = 1, there was a non-zero at Preschool which is 83. Does that not count? If not what is the criteria for identifying non-zero’s

For the row education="Preschool" there is only a single non-zero entry that corresponds to the column education-num=1. This is also a 1-to-1 correspondence here.
