Overfitting and noise in question 2 of quiz M2.01

Hello,

Am I the only one that was surprised by the answer to question 2 of quiz M2.01? I’ll try to be careful and not spoil the answer, but I’d like to discuss it if possible.

My impression was that the answer contradicted both what was said in slide 4 of the video (the one titled “Overfit: model too complex”) and the explanation displayed after failing the question.

Did I misunderstand something?

@lfarhi I think that there an issue with the solution to the second question. In short, it is the complement of the first question. I checked GitLab and did not put the answer correctly there as well.

I fixed the question 2 and reset it for everybody. You can answer again, you have 2 possible submissions.

Question 2 is still not working properly.
